1. The IGI says that Mary was born in 1705, but it is clear from the Easebourne parish register that she was born in March 1705/6. This may be important, because it makes it possible that she is the first child of the marriage of William Luffe and Mary Tribe (m. May 28 1705 in Chichester).
2. Her father's will indicates that her married name was Betsworth. This links up with a marriage licence from the Bishop of Winchester for the marriage on 22/7/1729 of William Betsworth of Petersfield, maltster, batchelor, and Mary Luffe spinster of the same. There is an IGI record which shows that the marriage took place in the Cathedral Church, Winchester, but in this record the name has been transcribed as Mary Lusse.
