1. Michael Davine sent me information that Nelson d'Avoine was in illegitimate son of Anne d'Avoine, born 4/10/1871 father unknown.
2. My subsequent information on this branch of the family comes from Paul Devine (email pddevine.eet@bigpond.com) in Australia who is a great-grandson of Nelson d'Avoine. He tells me that the 1891 census shows Nelson d'Avoine living with Anne and Nicolas Brehaut and working with their son Ernest as Carpet fitters. Nelson and his half-brother Ernest married two sisters - Agnes Gertrude Carre and Sophie Carrie respectively.
