1. Thomas Wood arises from the reference in Thomas Hawkes' will to 'his natural son Thomas Wood'. The baptism record in Folkestone 1881 is speculative, but seems to tie in with the theories about Thomas Hawkes' second wife. He appears in his father's will written in 1790, but neither he nor any descendants are mentioned in Elizabeth Hawkes' will of 1813. So we presume that he died in the meantime without children.
