1. There is a possible marriage in Brighton in 1832 (see IGI) to a Frances Wooldridge. This pair figure in the Sussex Poor Law records and the notes indicate a Pulborough connection. It seems that Frances had an illegitimate child (by another of the Wooldridge family). The final record is in 1835 which says that the father is in gaol and the mother has abandoned the child.
2. An alternative is provided on Ancestry.com by a descendant of George Agate with the cryptic name of 'Penrich39'. . His version is that George married Sarah Chapman on 13/10/1844 in Old Church, St. Pamcras, London. The date of 1874 for his death comes from the same source.
