1. Thomas appears in the marriage certificate of his son John, where his profession is given as Wine Cooper.
2. There is a possible record for his family in the 1841 census (details are listed under his son John Pottle). Thomas is missing from the census, but evidently he was dead by then. See census transcript at www.familychest.co.uk/History/Data/Cen41_002.htm
3. On Ancestry.com there is a tree named "Langdon Family Tree' owned by SWLANGDON56 which suggests that Thomas Pottle was married to Jane Beech (1791-1872). There was a marriage of a couple with these names in 1817.
