1. The one solid piece of evidence regarding Arthur's wife Elizabeth comes from the birth certificate of Sarah Baker. This identifies Elizabeth's father as Moses Chantler.
2. He was born in Billingshurst and continued to live there until at least 1798 when he was described as 'of Billingshurst, Farmer'. Yet already by the time of the birth of his daughter Elizabeth (1770) the birth is recorded by the Quaker meeting house in Horsham.
3. Ultimately (1811) he is said to have been buried at the Quaker burial ground in Horsham. This is recorded by the "Find-a-Grave" website but they haven't managed to find a plot number for him. Did he ever move from Billingshurst to Horsham, or did he simply travel to the Quaker meetings there?
1. There is a record somewhere which says that she died in Warnham, Sussex on 14/11/1819 but the "Find-a-Grave" website has identified a plot for her in the Horsham Quaker burial ground.
