5. I have a copy of his marriage certificate (1879), at which time he lived in Blackman Street, Newington and his profession is Lighterman. A transcription of the certificate can be seen at www.familychest.co.uk/History/Data/MarPH_01.htm
6. In the 1881 census he lived at 11 Goat Street, Bermondsey, with his profession shown as Lighterman. His son Henry was aged 5 months. See census transcript at www.familychest.co.uk/History/Data/Cen81_002.htm

8. The birth certificate of his son Victor (1892) gives Edward's address as 65, Queen Elizabeth St, Horselydown, Southwark and his profession as Lighterman Journeyman.
9. In the 1901 census his family are living at 44 Lafone Street. He is a Lighterman, as ever. All the family are still living with him, from Henry aged 20, down to Walter, aged 1. 1. A transcription of her birth certificate (1858) can be seen at www.familychest.co.uk/History/Data/BthAH_01.htm
2. By the time of the 1911 census she is widowed but still living with 9 of her children. We are told that there were 12 children born alive, of whom 9 are still living. See census transcript at www.familychest.co.uk/History/Data/Cen11_009.htm
3. In the 1921 census she is living at 34 Fair Street, Bermondsey with 4 of her children. See census transcript at www.familychest.co.uk/History/Data/Cen21_002.htm
4. She came to Wolverhampton to live with her daughter Ivy in later life. When she died, she was taken back to London to be buried in the same grave as her mother and father in Nunhead cemetary. [Note. 'Uncle Frank' ie. her grandson Frank Davis would have been 11 at the time of her death and was present at the funeral. His memory was that she was buried in a 'Family Vault' which had been built to take 26, and that she was the 13th to go in. The reality turns out to be that there are only 5 in the grave and that it only has a standard headstone. Sorry Frank ! ]
