Note on Husband: William Arthur BAKER - shared note

1. In the 1881 census he is living at 13 Fleet Street, Brighton with his wife and 4 children. His profession is Paperhanger.

2. Note that the IGI has four separate records of his birth, only one of which is from the genuine parish register. All give slightly different dates.

Note on Wife: Ann Susan HARDS - shared note

1. There are various dubious IGI records of the marriage of William Arthur Baker to Ann Susan, and of the birth of various children to William Baker and Ann Hards. The births have exact dates, so they are probably to be believed.

2, The 1881 census gives her birthplace as Salisbury and her age.

3. Note that Ann is probably a sister of Barbara Hards who married Reuben Baker. Barbara also came from Salisbury.
