1. A couple named William and Ann Thacker appear to have had the following sequence of children in Southwark (youngest listed first):
Charles b.19/8/1810 St George the Martyr, Southwark
George b.14/8/1808 St. Saviour, Southwark
Lucy b. 25/12/1805 St George the Martyr, Southwark
Ann b. 30/8/1803 St George the Martyr, Southwark
Charles b.17/11/1801 St George the Martyr, Southwark
There may have been two other earlier children:
Edward Dimmock Thacker b. 9/6/1799 Saint Paul, Deptford, Kent
William Thacker b. 6/8/1797 Saint Paul, Deptford, Kent
2. There are numerous family trees on Ancestry which identify William Thacker as having been born 19/6/1772 in Holbeach, Lincolnshire. He married Ann Valentine who was born 1776 in Boston, Lincs, the marriage being on 30/6/1794 in Holbeach. The argument in favour of this solution is simply that there isn't a better one. The main argument against is the 1851 census entry for William which says that he was born in Middlesex. A second argument against is that it implies a 6 year gap between the couple's marriage and the birth of their first child.
