William BROWNSELL of Briston, Norfolk - Yeoman SUBJECT The largest sheet is the probate copy of the Will of William Brownsell (deceased), which begins by appointing his wife, Ann, and his son William, as Executors of the Will. Broadly, his estate is to be for the benefit of his wife during her life and after that is to be divided equally between his children ((or grandchildren) if the child predeceases him)). The children mentioned are William, Robert (already deceased), and Elizabeth. There is also a daughter-in-law, Phobe Brownsell. His real estate appears to consist of one or more freehold cottages and also one or more copyhold cottages. The grant of probate states that his effects are valued at under £200. | |||||||||||
