Summary of contents:
PARTIES John Daynes EAGLING of Southberg, Norfolk. Farmer. Edward Palmer CLARKE of Wymondham, Norfolk. Gentleman. SUBJECT The document begins by reciting that in 1859 John Eagling mortgaged property in Southberg to Edward Clarke. The property was then subject to the life interest in it of Mary Daynes which she received from the will of her Uncle John Daynes. Mary Daynes has since died and a new mortgage for £300 is being executed. The property consists of a messuage called Claypitt together with several parcels of land totalling 24 acres. This is only a draft but various notes in the margin and on the cover suggest that the contract was engrossed and executed, so it looks likely that it did take place.
