Ebenezer GEALL of South Bersted, Surrey. Brickmaker. Henry GEALL of South Bersted, Surrey. Brickmaker. George Durrant AUSTEN of Bognor, Sussex. Solicitor. SUBJECT The document is headed "An abstract of the title of the Representatives of GD Austen to numbers 38 and 39 Essex Road, South Bersted, Sussex". It begins in 1888 recording the sale of the property by Samuel Reynolds to Ebenezer and Henry Geall for £58. It had earlier been customary land of the Manor of South Bersted but had been enfranchised in 1877. In 1888 and 1889 the two Gealls mortgaged it to George Austen for £300. We are told that George Austen died in 1902 having appointed his wife Mary Ann and Edward Booth Wannop as his executors. | |||||||||||||
