John MARLER of Tunstead, Norfolk. Yeoman. And, Hannah his wife.
Amy MARLER of Tunstead, Norfolk. Spinster.

SUBJECT
This is a document of the Manor of Tunstead on the Part of Lancaster (which is actually in Norfolk).

John and Hannah Marler are copyhold tenants of the Manor and are mortgaging their property (of which no details are given) to Amy Marler for £425. Accordingly, the manorial procedures require that they surrender the property to Amy Marler out of court.

This document records the surrender and a note on the back adds that the surrender was ratified at a General Court Baron on 2 November 1773.
