William John WATKINS of Wigton, Cumberland, Clerk. John McKEEVER of Wigton, Cumberland. SUBJECT John McKeever, who carries on a business (unspecified) under the name of J McKeever & Son, is suing the Local Board of Health for £32/17/5d. This appears to be for work done which included "pursuing documents and attending enquiries". This document is an affidavit made by William Watkins who is now clerk to the Local Board of Health. He admits that £28/8/7d is owing but disputes the balance. Pencil notes in the margin say that William Watkins only came to Wigton 6 months ago and knows nothing about the case. The document is clearly marked as a copy, but appears to have been made for use at or before the court hearing. | ||||||||||||
