William DAWS of Tenterden, Kent. Farmer. John WIGHTWICK of Tenterden, Kent. Brickmaker. James ISARD of Tonbridge, Kent. Tallow Chandler. John MUNN of Tenterden, Kent. Gentleman. John EARL (deceased) of Sutton Valence, Kent. Gentleman. PARTIES The document relates to a "small messuage" in Tenterden, Kent, which is next to the White Lion Inn. We are told that this property had been owned by John Earl who died in 1833 having appointed John Wightwick as his Executor (and it seems that John Wightwick was also a tenant of this property). John Earl's Will left the house to Mary PEER his housekeeper, but in 1836 she sold it to John Wightwick for £50. Throughout this time a mortgage of £300 was charged on the property and by 1846 the mortgage was in the hands of William Daws. John Wightwick is now selling the property to James Isard for £400 of which, £300 is paid direct to William Daws to pay off the mortgage. John Munn appears to act only as some sort of Trustee and plays little real part. | ||||||||||||
