Mary ATKIN of Benington, Lincolnshire. Spinster. Rimmington ATKIN of Wrangle, Lincolnshire. Gentleman. William ATKIN of Leake, Lincolnshire. Grazier. SUBJECT The document is headed "Abstract of Title" of Miss Mary Atkin to a close of land at Wrangle in the County of Lincoln sold to Messrs William Lilley and Joseph Lilley". It summarises events from 1786 to 1825 relating to 3 parcels of meadow or pasture of 6 acres, 4 acres and 4 acres, all in Wrangle. William Atkin bought the land in 1786 for £320, but died in 1908 leaving it to his brother Rimmington Atkin, subject to an £70 annuity payable to his wife Jane. Rimmington Atkin died in 1822 leaving the property to his niece Mary. By this time part of the land was known as Stimpsons. The document is not specifically dated, but '1840' has been written on the cover, and this is consistent with the date of 1837 in the watermark of the paper. | |||||||||||||
