SUBJECT
This is a long and complicated indenture of which the first four and a half pages are recitals of earlier events. It relates to the Manor of Headington and extensive lands in the parish of Headington which had been the property of Thomas Henry Whorwood (deceased father of the one of the same name in this contract) and of William Henry Whorwood.

The two Whorwoods had mortgaged the property to Jane Helena Craig (then named Jnae Helena Johnstone) for £15,000. Before her marriage to John Craig she put the mortgage in the hands of James Johnstone, Frances Mitchell and Robert Craig, as trustees.

The mortgage is now being transferred to the Earls of Darlington and Kilmorey (and at the same time increaed to £18,000). This indenture is all about security for the new mortgage.

It looks as though Hugh Hill, Joseph Donald, francis Forester and Matthew Ford are acting only as Trustees.

There is a schedule giving details fo the property used as secuurity for the mortage.
