| PARTIES
The Dean and Chapter of Chichester Cathedral William JOHNSON of Chichester, Sussex. Gentleman. John SMART (deceased) of Chichester, Sussex. Gentleman. SUBJECT We are told that John Smart held a lease on property in Chichester that was owned by the Cathedral. In his Will, he left this property to William Johnson as a Trustee (but we are not told what we was to do with it!). The Dean and Chapter of the Cathedral are now granting a new 30 year lease to William Johnson at a rent of 7 shillings per annum and subject to the provisions of the Will of John Smart (which are not specified). The property is a messuage with garden on the North side of West Street, Chichester, formerly known as The Boot. It has a frontage of 40 feet on Wet Street and a depth of 214 feet. | |||||||||||||
