Mary Turney of Tandridge, Surrey. Widow. Charles Fleming of Lympsfield, Surrey, Plumber and Glazier, and Mary his wife. John Francis of Godstone, Surrey. Brandy Merchant. Thomas Brett (deceased) of Lympsfield, Surrey. Plumber and Glazier. NB We are told that Mary Fleming was formerly Mary Burley, Widow, and before that Mary Brett, the only daughter and heir of Thomas Brett who died intestate. SUBJECT The document relates to property in Lympsfield, which Mary Brett inherited from her father. We are told that in 1792, under her then name of Mary Burley, she mortgaged this to Mary Turney for £350. The £50 mortgage is now being transferred to John Francis, and at the same time, Charles and Mary Fleming are borrowing a further £30 from him. the property consists of a messuage on the North East side of the highway from Cockham Hill to Botley Hill, together with a small orchard and piece of land called the Well Yard. | |||||||||||
