George TUCKER of Musbury, Devon. Lord of the Manor of Uplyme. Benjamin HODDER of Uplyme, Devon. Yeoman. SUBJECT Benjamin Hodder is buying property in Uplyme from George Tucker for a term of 2000 years for £75. A rent of 1/-d ( one shilling) per annum is payable to the Manor of Uplyme. The property consists of a plot of 5 acres on the South West of the turnpike road from Axminster to Lyme Regis. It has all been enclosed, or is about to be enclosed, out of the Common of the Manor. A Memorandum added on the back tells us that in 1809 Benjamin Hodder assigned part of the land to his brother LIONEL HODDER for 500 years. | |||||||||||
