PARTIES John READER of New Park Road, Brixton Hill, Surrey. Lamplighter. The South Metropolitan Gas Company's Officers and Employees Permanent Benefit Building Society SUBJECT We are told that John Reader holds the residue of an 80 year lease on property in Brixton which had been created in 1847. It is number 51 Sussex Road on the Lambeth Wyke Estate. He is now mortgaging it to the South Metropolitan Gas Company's Building Society for £100. A note added on the final page records that the mortgage had been repaid by 1893.
