SUBJECT The document begins by reciting that John Yates died in 1824 leaving his property to his two daughters Mary and Ann Yates. We are also told that in 1819 John Yates was granted a lease for 999 years at a recent of £3/10/-d per annum on a plot of land in Heap, Bury, Lancashire. Mary Yates, James Ashton and his wife Ann are now mortgaging the property to Thomas Howard for £100. It consists of a plot of 560 square yards called the Brearley Meadow. | ||||||||||||
