Yeoman (deceased) SUBJECT The document begins by reciting the Will of Robert Edwards who died in 1788 leaving property in Edenbridge, Kent, to Thomas and Elizabeth Marchant for their lives and then to their 3 sons, Charles, James and Edward. Thomas Marchant has now died and Edward Marchant is selling his expectation of a share of the property to his mother, Elizabeth, for £245. the property consists of a messuage known as Sherdon with 18 acres of land in Edenbridge, together with rights to tithe of the rectory of Stangrave (?) and Edenbridge.
