John Bulmer of Rotherhithe, Surrey, Gentleman - Trustee of the Fifth Rotherhithe Operatives Benefit Society. Edward James Talbot of Rotherhithe, Surrey, Gentleman - Trustee of the Fifth Rotherhithe Operatives Benefit Society. SUBJECT Thomas Shapcott has the residue of a 95 year lease (which commenced in 1865) on a house at 245 Summer Road, Peckham. He is mortgaging it to the Trustees of the Rotherhithe Building Society for £130. The document has no revenue stamp (which might indicate that the contract was never completed). However, a signed note added on the back acknowledges that the mortgage was repaid in 1887, so there is no doubt that it all took place.
