William YOUNGE of Shipdham, Norfolk - Weaver and Grocer Edward YOUNGE of Watton, Norfolk - Weaver and Grover William Lane ROBINSON also of Watton, Norfolk - Gentleman and Trustee. SUBJECT This is the second part of a contract of sale by Lease and Release in which William Younge is selling property in Shipdham, Norfolk, to Edward Younge for £1,500/-/-d. The property consists of a messuage with field adjoining totalling 5 acres, bounded on the North by the highway from Bradenham to Norwich, and on the East by the churchyard. We are told that in 1786 and 1787 the property was mortgaged to Mary Rising of Mattishall, Norfolk (Widow), for sums totalling £400/-/-d. Accordingly, William Younge only receives £1,100/-/-d, and Edward Younge takes on responsibility for the mortgages. Note that, while it is Edward Younge who pays the purchase money, the conveyance is actually made out to William Robinson who will hold the property in trust for him. See document number 0506031 or the 'Lease for a Year', which preceeds the Release. | |||||||||||
