SUBJECT
The indenture concerns a plot of land of 390 square yards between Bolton Hall Road and Back Street in Bolton, Calverley, formerly part of the Bolton Hall Estate.

The recitals begin with an indenture of 1872 when George Lang acquired this land as part of a larger plot of 1664 square yards. He then borrowed £236 from the Bingley Building Society. By September 1872, his debt to the Building society had risen to £590, and the security for this loan was extended to include 9 newly erected dwelling houses on the plot. He has borrowed a further £60 in 1873.

George Lang is now selling the present 390 square yard plot to Frederick Almgill for £90, of which £56/2/0d (fifty six pounds two shillings and no pence) will be paid direct to the Building Society. As yet, this plot does not appear to have been built upon.
