Colliery Carpenter. SUBJECT John Greetham is buying 2 dwelling houses, Numbers 16 and 18 Alexandra Road, Swallownest, Parish of Aston in Yorkshire for £500. We are told that, in 1914, these belonged to William Ward who mortgaged them for £200. In 1917 this mortgage was transferred to Nellie West. William Ward died in 1919 leaving Agnes Ward as beneficiary and executor of his will. In the present sale, £300 is paid to Agnes Ward and £200 to Nellie Ward to pay off the mortgage.
