Summary of contents
PARTIES
Sir Ambrose ELTON of Clevedon Court in the Parish of Clevedon, and County of Somerset. Baronet.
Vernon Leeming ROYLE of Russell House, Portishead, County of Somerset. Mill Manager.

SUBJECT
This is a Grant of land and a dwelling house in the Parish of Clevedon, Somerset from Sir Ambrose Elton to Vernon Royle.. There is a perpetual rent charge of £3/5/-d per annum (but no sale price). We are told that Vernon Royle recently erected the dwelling house at his own cost, and it is on a piece of ground known as Upper Strode.

Sir Ambrose Elton appears to be acting as a trustee for a settlement made by Sir Arthur Hallam Elton in his will of 1876. The document includes a schedule of deeds relating to this property going back to 1776. All involve various members of the Elton family, starting with Sir Abraham Isaac Elton.
