SUBJECT The document begins by reciting that in July 1913 Walter Livesey acquired a 999 year lease on a plot of land in Lower Darwen, Lancashire. This plot contained 14 cottages or dwellinghouses then built or in the course of erection. Then in August 1913 Walter Livesey mortgaged the plot to Ernest Davies for £370. Walter Livesey is now granting an underlease for the residue of that term of the house at number 142 Sandy Lane, Lower Darwen, to Harry Roberts for £290. Walter Livesey still has £120 of the original mortgage outstanding, but the mortgagee agrees that the remaining property is sufficient security for this sum.
