PARTIES James DUFFIELD of Tallanter Hall in the County of Cumberland. Gentleman. Tom HIGTON and Charles HIGTON of Norton Woodseats, Sheffield, Yorkshire. Builders. SUBJECT James Duffield is giving an 800 year lease to Tom and Charles Higton on a plot of land and dwelling house at No. 46 Chatfield Road, Norton Woodseats, Sheffield. The rent is £2/4/8d p.a. The Higtons undertake "to erect, complete and finish" one good and substantial dwelling house on the plot within 6 months. (I'm not sure that this makes sense. There appears to be a dwelling house on the plot already, and the plan makes clear that there isn't any room to build another one. Perhaps it only needs to be finished off.).
