Summary of contents
PARTIES John BATES of Darlington, Durham. Engine Fitter. The Onward Building Society. SUBJECT John Bates is borrowing £70 from the Onward Building Society on the security of property in Darlington. The property is number 20 Denmark Street, Darlington, and was acquired by John Bates in 1880. It is not his own home, but appears to be let to a William HALL. A memorandum added on the cover records that the mortgage was paid off in 1882.
