The document begins by reciting that John and Margaret Whysom bought the cottage in 1860 and immediately mortgaged it to William Collins for £40. This mortgage is still outstanding. John Whysom died in 1875 and his widow, Margaret, is now selling the cottage for £145 to John Partridge.
