Frederic FEARNSIDE of Bradford, Yorkshire. Organist. Lavinia DEBBAGE the wife of James DEBBAGE of Norwich, Norfolk. Compositor. SUBJECT Frederic Fearnside is selling property in Norwich to Lavinia Debbage for £100 but we are told that a mortgage of £160 plus interest is outstanding and that Lavinia Debbage is taking over this debt. The property consists of two dwelling houses and shops at numbers 5 and 6 Bishops Palace Street, in the Parish of St George of Tombland, Norwich. The document emphasises that the property will be free of the "debts, control and engagements" of any present or future husband of Lavinia Debbage. This had only become possible as a result of the Married Women's Property Act of 1882. The separate letter is addressed to the Loyal Anchor of Hope Lodge of the Odd fellows Manchester Friendly Society. They are the holders of the mortgage on the property and the letter is to inform them of the change of ownership. | |||||||||||||
