James Burchall Elizabeth Leggatt (deceased) of Poynings, Sussex Frances Woolven (deceased) SUBJECT This document is a copy from the Court Roll of the Manor of Poynings, Sussex. It relates to copyhold land which consists of (i) a messuage and garden in Poynings Street, (ii) a half acre of land called Tenterhaw (?), and (iii) an acre of land called the Old Pond place. This property belonged to Elizabeth Leggatt who had been admitted to it in 1788 and who left it in her will to Fraces Woolven for her lifetime. Accordingly Frances Woolven was admitted to it in 1835, but has since died. The two executors and trustees of the will of Elizabeth Leggatt, namely Thomas Groom and Peter Marchant Lashman, have now sold the property to James Burchall. This document records the admission of James Burchall to the land. | |||||||||||
